Home Security
geeks.pirillo.com – http – Nearly a decade ago, I was on the cutting edge with a web cam. I didn’t even have broadband back then, but I had a semi-live web cam. People would watch it and save images from it. I received an email question, asking if I knew of something that would work to help him do surveillance with his computer and web cam. chris.pirillo.com

Buy a DSC alarm system with a DSC VVM110 (Video Verification Module) or DVR along with a loud siren.
The VVM110 will allow a central monitoring station to video verify all alarms and sumbit it to local authorities as evidence (will also save you from a fake alarm fines) and allows you to remotely monitor you house from the net.
This way you don’t have to worry about the burglar stealing your computer on which your video is stored and putting you up shit creek without a paddle … hehe.

Burn a cd to give police as evidence in the case of a crime, VISCE software best works with motionsensor IP cameras. Motion sensors save computer memory and only work when needed.
You can view your cameras from any computer and i believe that the IP specs provide you limitless distance of operation.

They will run off the closest computer navigate to your home portal where the broadcast information is privatly stored for you. Under that presumption your office, parking areas, mailbox, home and child outdoor play area can all be secured with one software no matter the distance they be from the headquaters computer.

dogs and guns are fantastic, but guns dont mean crap if you aren’t home, and dogs done mean crap if the crook has a gun, or mace…..and if your dogs are inside, who’s watching their safety in a fire when you aren’t home

My brother said he might setup a Linux box with ZoneMinder to watch his carport, and I might set one up to see who’s at my door.
Also, Chris, I don’t reckon that’s really surveillance software; it’s more just webcam software.
