Kitchens of Distinction- Blue Pedal (Peel Session)

Kitchens
Kitchens of Distinction performing the classic “Blue Pedal” on the John Peel show in 92 i reckon. I wanted to upload this mainly because its a brilliant song by a brilliant band, and share it around for people who may not have heard it or not even the band. You can buy Kitchens of Distinction albums through amazon.co.uk or on Itunes(well in the uk i reckon). Also this version of blue pedal has a more atmospheric feel to it
Delight in!

Can’t recall who opened for them that particular night. Just a brilliant show, and I remember they closed the show with ‘Prize’! Fantastic band!

@jzydlo 1992 at the Metro, very cool. Did they share the bill with anyone?

@BluePedal I guess no trace on Youtube for Mad as Snow. Would have loved to hear that from the Peel Sessions. Do you know if it made it to any EP or otherwise?

What a FANTASTIC song! My favorite from ‘The Death of Cool’. I saw them back in college in 1992 at Metro in Chicago. What a fantastic show! Had the tour shirt until about 2 years ago when it just ripped completely…..loved these guys!

Always remember this version of the track, far better than the album version, thanks for adding this!

Isn’t this from Death of Cool? The image above is the incorrect album… if memory serves me correctly.

Absolutely gorgeous song: music for the other side of midnight, and for another world.

reminds me of Stan Ridgeway…
maybe it’s the harmonica…

Pay attention to slow subdued beginning and follow the song as it gradually ascends to a loud screaming peak – ending in a sudden death end they did so f-ing excellent in quite a few of their songs.
I heard a version of Mad as Snow on BBC Radio a few months ago from this session. If you got that place it up please. Thanks for this.
