What an incredible band! Thanks so much for this live clip. Pure magic! Julian’s guitar works is mesmerizing. I’d kill to see a pic of his guitar effects rig. Kitchens OD FOREVER!!!!!
That’s awesome. I saw them a couple times in Minneapolis. One was a small show and Patrick was walking around talking to people before the show. Seems like a fantastic guy. I bought a bunch of their CD’s in a resale store once and when I opened them they were all autographed.
Fantastic video! I caught them on this tour in the US in 1996 and they were incredible! I went with the bass player in my band (we are both huge KOD fans). Both of us had our minds blown when we realized that I played the same guitar as Julian, and he played the same bass as Patrick! KOD was (and still is) an influence on us, and seeing them live was one of the most memorable shows I’ve ever seen.
Monday 29th October
The 12 Bar Club

£5 entry
stephenhero (headline) onstage at 9pm
Patrick Fitzgerald (ex Kitchens of Distinction) will be playing an intimate live HEADLINE showcase at The 12 Bar Club, London on Monday 29th October under his critically acclaimed stephenhero moniker.
Unfortunately, the Birmingham gig was taped over the Hull gig, so there is only about 30 seconds of Mad as Snow not already up here. More stuff will follow later in the year though.
Superb. Thanks a lot for posting this and the others from the Flapper & Firkin gig – I loved them a lot. I would also be interested in seeing the ‘dark’ hull gig you have if you can get around to posting it.
Fantastic performance. Like the pimp said to his hoes “keep em coming”.

Especially on ‘Mad as Snow’. A fantastic sound.

If you didn’t see it in person you would never believe a person could make so much sound out of a guitar as Julian can make.

Yeah, I saw them live in Liverpool – probably on the tour previous to this one. I couldn’t believe what a huge sound three of them could make.

Haha, seriously? I thought you had edited the video and place the song in.
Weird style to open a concert; Kitchens were a real show even before they hit the first note, weren’t they?

LOL! He was. That music was nothing to do with me.

Mad, for a moment I thought Patrick was really dancing to your intro song.
Anyway, it’s fantastic to find excellent-qualiy live performances by KOD, what a band…a magnificent trio!
God, if you exist, bring them together once again.

Can you believe only three guys are making that enormous, gorgeous sound?
Clearly, all three add a fantastic deal to the sound, but serious props to that guitar player for taking the listener to another world. Fantastic.

The bridge between these two songs is gorgeous. Always gets to me.
