If the door opened outward, then the hinges would be on the outside and thus vulnerable to attack. It takes about 10 seconds to remove the hinge pins and pull the door out.

I’ve had a question for many years:
Why don’t front doors open out so they cant be kicked in with out having to knock down the whole wall?

i’m thinking about getting one. my neighbor installed this lock a couple weeks ago. it is certainly bump resistant because he’s a locksmith and he tested it. we also did everything we could to kick it in without really damaging his door, and its solid.

looks like a excellent lock want to see how it works the thing is it would be hard to install it on a rental house because of the land lords
