Flip Ultra HD DIY Lens Hack
A couple of people have questioned me how I get the wide-angle interior car shots in some of my videos. Here’s a very quickly thrown together (and admittedly very long) video that shows you really how simple it is to modify your Flip Ultra HD or Flip Mino HD with some off the shelf camcorder accessories and some super glue. *UPDATE* A bunch of people have questioned about where to find the wide angle lens – I don’t work for Best Buy but you can find it on their website here (you can also find a number of perfectly fine lenses at a number of perfectly fine retailers (Thanks teezydotty for posting the link): tiny.cc Filmed on a Sony Webbie MHS-CM1 (Note: This will probably void your warranty if you do it to your camera – YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!)

I reckon that would be fine it might be a small huge – be sure to test fit everything before you glue. Place the lens on the ring and hold it up to the camera to be sure the optics work the way you want them to. Also – be sure the larger ring doesn’t get glued to the battery door, that would be terrible news.

is there some way of taking that ring off so I can take out the lens and flip it? because I saw another video where some guy did it to make the fish eye looking effect but I can’t take off the black thing without ruining it. should I just take it to the camera shop or radio shack or something?
