I find the lack of tapes, mull, and lining very disconcerting…it means that only the endsheets are holding the bookblock to the case; you can be sure it’s not a very strong book. There’s also no rounding or backing, but i guess flat spines are well loved nowadays.
The stitching method is called “kettlestitch,” basically you pass the thread between the previous two signatures before entering the next signature…
