In my first How To video, I’ll show you how to turn a bunch of binder clips into an iphone/itouch/ipod dock that should work with most cases. note: I’m using the 3g cable that came with my 3g iphone. Music: Linus Likes – VH1 Justice – Phantom Digitalism – Digitalism in Cairo

@themitch117 maybe you did it incorrect. I have 2, one at home and one at work. no problems for over a year. then again, i’m very careful with my toys hehe.

Just wanted to let everyone know that after about a week this WILL TEAR YOUR CORD. Right after the white reinforcing bit of the cord that comes out of the connector, it will just tear nearly completely off. This includes the white casing and the shielding/grounding metal interwoven sheath that covers the actual wires. I just have a cord with the internal wires completely exposed and bent to the side now. Doubt the video author wants you to know this though.

1) when placing phone on the table you’re destroying phone’s back
2) you don’t see directly phone’s show.

How do you remove the iPhone? Lol.

Uh… all those clips cost at most $3 and can be found at any office supply store, online office supply store, large chain pharmacy, or stationary store. And from the video it took about 10 minutes, and that’s to show you how to make a super duper solid version.
If you make even $25 an hour, this version would take you 10 minutes, at a cost of $10 max, compared to the $25 apple version.
Soo.yea. Don’t get me incorrect tho, if you want a nice looking dock, the apple one is nice and simplistic.

i thnk the dock itself is a silly invention. what’s incorrect with just placing the iphone down on the table while charging it? but for those who do want a dock i reckon this is pretty clever.
April 8th, 2010 at 10:47 pm
What did you use to make the labe/stickerl i really want one of them
April 8th, 2010 at 10:57 pm
I dont get what u benefit from this, the normal dock is like 25 bucks, and all these clips cost?? And the time to find the right store with the same + the time to build it. I would say my time is more expensive than 25$

Maybe he’s one of those people who can afford an iPhone because he doesn’t flush his money down the toilet on an overpriced piece of plastic.
April 8th, 2010 at 11:17 pm
if you can afford an iphone bill i’m pretty sure you can just buy a dock
