and you didn’t look at the specifications before you bought it?

i am using one right now. get the playstation 3 wireless ketboard. it has a touch pad and works fantastic

If it’s preapplied, don’t touch it. If you are applying it yourself, I’d spread it evenly and thinly using something like a credit card.

So with pre-applied thermal paste, do you have to smudge it out so that it covers the whole area or leave it like it is? Will it be as effective if you leave it the way it is?

You’re welcome.

“Yes” to the first question, “no” to the second.

Ok once I build everything than what? Do I turn it on and just install the operating system disk? Is there like a deafult button where makes my life simpler and the computer does everythig by it self.
February 25th, 2010 at 4:22 am
Yes. I’m plotting on buying an Adesso wireless keyboard/touchpad in the near future for my MythBox.

And a google search of “wireless keyboard with touchpad” reveals?
You should also check out the “EFO Wireless Handheld Keyboard and Touch Pad” which can also be found by searching “touchpad” at usb geek.

is there such thing as a wireless keyboard with a touchpad on it?

I wish. Antec, if you’re watching, I could use a new case for my next build.

is this an antec sponsored video? lol

Yep, if you need a simple solution, you should buy a mac mini, but be aware that it will be underpowered and have less expansion possibilities than a self-assembled, windows based system.

@vinczeee there are only two power cables that can be connected to motherboard (one long and one 4-pin power cable.) and i dont reckon its have to do with power, the led is on on motherboard, that meens its power supplyed. i reckon its have to do with power swich. but i dont know what can it be. I will try reconecting everything and connecting one-one
February 25th, 2010 at 7:49 am
@fredigood2 checked all power cables? power switch on PSU? power from PSU to motherboard? etc.
February 25th, 2010 at 8:27 am

Sounds nice. Delight in.

I have a HTPC running Mythbuntu 8.04. I use an nVidia GeForce 6200 card to hook it up to the TV (via S-Video). Also have a WinTV PVR-250 tuner card. It’s pretty cool!

You’ll have to check out some reviews on individual cases and Mobos, but I’d look for a mobo with 3 sata ports (1 optical drive and 2 hard drives) and a PCI Express slot. On the case, there are a number of manufacturers, like antec, who specifically market SFF cases with a focus on noise reduction. Using a power efficient CPU and setting Bios to drop fans down to their minimum level when not under heavy load will also keep noise down.
Excellent luck, and feel free to video the results

what would you recommend as a mATX mobo? i want to build a HTPC using a small barebone casing so it takes up minimal space, would the stock noise dampening rubber be enough or should i just stick with a normal tower comp case?
